Whoopi Goldberg recently accused Holtermann’s Bakery, a family-owned business in Staten Island, of refusing her birthday order because of her political views. On The View, Goldberg shared that the bakery gave her several excuses, such as oven problems, but she suspected the real reason was her liberal stance. While the order was eventually fulfilled, Goldberg pointed out the significant delay in receiving her desserts.
In response, the bakery denied the accusation. Owner Jill Holtermann clarified that the delay was caused by technical issues with their old boiler, not Goldberg’s politics. Holtermann expressed frustration over the backlash, emphasizing that the delay was purely an infrastructure issue and had nothing to do with political differences.
